Valley Church Clinton is a start-up church plant aimed at bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ to Clinton, IN and Vermillion County. Born out of a vision of multiplication clearly laid out in the Book of Acts, our goal is to create a simple church model where followers of Christ come to love God, love the people of Clinton, and reach the world.
Why plant a church?
We believe wholeheartedly in the local church. The local church is the real, visible, and central part of Christ’s mission. It is a Biblical mandate for followers of Christ to gather regularly (Heb. 10:24-25), submit to authority (Heb. 13:17), and to be a holy nation (1 Pet. 2:9-10). The ultimate authority of the church is Christ (Col. 1:18) and it is the job of the church to make disciples and show the lost world Jesus (Matt. 28:18-20, Acts 1:8).
Although we affirm the idea of the Universal Church, it exists through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and through real, Christ-centered local churches who are unified in mission and mind (Php. 2:2). Not only did Christ’s apostles set up the church in Acts, the Apostle Paul also dedicated his life to setting up congregations and writing letters addressed to churches and pastors that would establish those churches. Local churches are even mentioned in Revelation by name.
Therefore, it is our mission to establish a local, thriving church in Clinton, IN that firmly teaches the gospel of Jesus Christ, cares for the vulnerable, reaches the lost, and encourages, corrects, and rebukes believers in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
OUR CHURCH WAS BORN OUT OF A
VISION OF MULTIPLICATION
Valley Church Clinton wasn’t a church split, or a rouge pastor making something his own. Rather, our congregation was born out of the Biblical calling to multiply, to share the things God has graciously blessed us with.
Our church was a true plant. In 2015, Pastor Brett of Valley Church in Terre Haute had the long-term vision of sending a church plant and sending a full-time missionary right from our very own congregation. Now, ten years later, after intentional training, hard work, and multiplying, God has allowed Valley Church to send two full-time missionaries to Germany and to send 40 of our members to Clinton to start a church plant.
WE WERE SIMPLY JOINING IN THE WORK GOD WAS ALREADY DOING.
Pastor Brett built a staff, along with an extremely solid team of elders, that ended up training and sending pastors, youth leaders, worship leaders, and elders to start Valley Church Clinton on July 6th, 2025. Now that team is working to reach the city of Clinton with the gospel of Christ. Valley Church Clinton is working to build the community of believers in Clinton and Vermillion County and reach the unchurched. With a thriving partnership with Valley Church Terre Haute, our plant will work toward independence and autonomy to do ministry work in the specific context of Clinton, although we will always have a strong relationship with our sending church.
